Our story

Pioneers of quality private education in the Kingdom

Tarbiyah Islamiyah Schools are private schools designed to attract Saudi students alongside students of all nationalities with an Arabic cultural background, located in the city of Riyadh.

The school enables students to obtain the high school diploma under the credit-hour system in both scientific and literary tracks a prerequisite for university admission locally and internationally and also offers the American Diploma programme.

We strive to provide a healthy educational environment that develops students academically and socially, and plants the cultural and national values of their country in their hearts.

Milestones

A legacy measured in generations

1384 AH 1964 CE

The founding

Tarbiyah Islamiyah Schools were founded by Her Royal Highness Princess Sara bint Faisal bint Abdulaziz  beginning more than sixty years of continuous educational service in Riyadh.

2006

A new stewardship

Ownership transferred to His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Rashid, former Minister of Education (may Allah have mercy on him  1435 AH), whose belief that “teaching is a mission” still shapes the schools.

2010

Mawhiba partnership

Our partnership with the Mawhiba Foundation began, renewed every three years. Over more than a decade Mawhiba students at TIS have earned outstanding certificates and awards locally and internationally.

2011–2012

The American Diploma

The International Programme launched with fully equipped resources and highly qualified international academic and administrative staff  while Arabic, Islamic studies and social sciences remained approximately 30% of the curriculum per MOE requirements.

2015

A generation of graduates

By 2015, 3,288 students had graduated from TIS. Alumni hold leadership positions in medicine, literature, education and media, having achieved top ranks in secondary examinations and government certificates of appreciation.

The most important factor in the success of our education is that the teacher is certain that teaching is a mission.
