Educational Stages
Lower Elementary School
Raising a generation that loves goodness, knowledge and people — with strong foundations in Arabic, English, mathematics and science.
About the stage
Building a generation that loves knowledge and serves society.
One of our foremost aims is to raise a generation that loves goodness, knowledge and all people — contributing to a righteous family that becomes the nucleus of a sound society. We equip students with reading and writing skills in Arabic and English, and with essential mathematics and science, planting a lasting love of learning for the stages ahead, where they will harvest the best of what our schools prepare through dedicated work.

The Arabic Reading Challenge (ninth edition) encourages wide reading, comprehension and a lasting love of Arabic literature across the stage.
A dedicated programme to strengthen Arabic language, identity and confident use of Arabic in daily school life.
Additional periods supporting reading and writing skills in both Arabic and English for students who need targeted reinforcement.
Dramatic expression, the art of oratory and the storyteller class build confidence, voice, listening and performance skills.
A values programme rooted in the Prophetic example, helping students practise character and ethics in daily life.
Throughout the year the stage runs periodic guidance programmes: the monthly Discipline Star, the mid-year Discipline Star, and Positive Student recognition.
Learning pathways
English (CCSS) and STEM in depth
The English language learning programme at TIS is designed on the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) to strengthen Reading and Writing skills. Curricular and extra-curricular activities support academic skills and raise students’ self-esteem.
Students receive accounts on the SAVAS platform for extra digital academic support in Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking, with periodic performance assessment.
The sight-words programme and individual reading and speaking assessments target personalised learning so each student’s needs and interests are met.
STEM integrates science, mathematics and technology through English in two periods each week, built on international standards. Students apply what they learn in a final project — moving from theory to practical, real-life application.
Hayat programme
Student counselling services
The Hayat (student counselling) programme supports wellbeing, behaviour, academic follow-up and partnership with families.
Clarify the aims of guidance and counselling for the school community, all staff and parents.
Help each student discover their abilities, aptitudes, interests and skills — and understand challenges of any kind.
Build the capacity to change for the better and adapt to unexpected circumstances.
Support psychological wellbeing and train students to solve problems independently.
Develop the ability to consult, dialogue and express opinions freely and responsibly.
Deliver counselling programmes that support all learners.
Monitor academic performance continuously with subject teachers and heads of department, and identify cases of academic difficulty early.
Follow students who show behavioural concerns, understand each case, and set preventive and remedial plans.
Support students who are academically behind, study the causes, and take steps to raise their achievement.
Follow health cases and provide appropriate services with the school doctor.
Encourage high achievers, creative students and those with talents and skills to keep growing in excellence.
Involve students in decisions by promoting a culture of dialogue and activating student advisory councils.
Communicate effectively with parents of students facing social or academic concerns, and offer guidance and solutions.
Connect students to their community to develop positive social character.
Rules & regulations
Stage rules that keep Lower Elementary focused
Teachers and administrators work with families for a distinguished Primary stage — success depends on applying these shared rules together.
01
Attendance & timing
Morning assembly begins at 7:15 a.m.; dismissal is at 1:35 p.m. Lateness to the first period is recorded from 7:30 a.m. Unexcused absence, lateness or early leave affects attendance marks.
02
Gate 5 & dismissal
Enter and leave through Gate 5 only. Students may not leave with siblings when another stage dismisses earlier. Do not enter during the school day without an appointment. Collect from stage administration — book teacher office hours instead of speaking at the exit.
03
Uniform & belongings
School uniform is required; sports kit only on PE days. Label all belongings. Bring a labelled spare-clothes bag (underwear + outerwear). Keep personal grooming neat (nails trimmed; hair tidy / tied for girls).
04
Meals, devices & Classera
Send a full healthy meal; no nuts (allergy risk). Canteen purchase is not allowed in the first break; second break is allowed after the meal. Bring personal stationery. Engage on Classera — weekly plans to parents; e-homework to students.

Additional expectations for families
Further details on devices, early leave, stationery and pick-up.
Smart watches (including Apple Watch), toys and distracting items are not allowed. First time: warning. Second time: item held until end of day. Third time: item held until end of the week.
For leave before dismissal, send a written note with the reason in advance or contact stage administration. The school is not responsible when students repeatedly miss final periods and lose subject skills.
Each student must bring their own school stationery. Please collect students at the published dismissal time (1:35 p.m.).
Dismissal process
A safe and structured Lower Elementary dismissal.
Exit policies protect learning time and student safety — including Gate 5 collection, early-leave requests, and Classera communication.
01
Authorised collection
Students are received from stage administration at Gate 5. Leaving with siblings from another stage is not permitted when that stage dismisses earlier.
02
Early leave
For leave before dismissal, send a written note with the reason in advance, or contact stage administration. Repeated early exits from final periods affect learning.
03
On-time pick-up
Please collect students at 1:35 p.m. Late pick-up is difficult for children and staff.
04
Classera & parents
Weekly plans are sent to the parent Classera account; electronic homework to the student account. Active parent engagement supports every Primary learner.
